The status rule will pause/enable your campaigns and ad groups based on performance, enabling you to pause poor-performing ads automatically.

Use Case
While bidding and negative rules give you more control and are more granular, status rules are helpful when deploying specific strategies.
Example: Creating temporary multiple auto campaigns at different default bids to collect performance stats at each traffic tier:
Campaign 1: $0.55 default bids
Campaign 2: $0.60 default bids
Campaign 3: $0.65 default bids
...
Campaign 10: $1.00 default bids
The status rule can help to analyze performance across multiple campaigns and pause poor-performing ads automatically.
Some sellers also use the status rules on Single Keyword Campaigns.
